Toilet Seat up or down?

At the beginning of our marriage I asked my wonderful husband if he wouldn't mind putting not just the toilet seat but also the lid down when he was done in the bathroom. He in a very unusual manner asked me why. I don't believe I was demanding it so I just told him because I don't like to be able to see right inside the toilet when I walked into the bathroom. He was very satisfied with that answer and agreed.
Of course I was curious about his attitude and asked him about it. He told me that he once had a female roommate who insisted that it was her womanly right to have the toilet seat down. Of course my husband is a very kind man but he does not believe in ridiculous reasons for doing things and so from what I understand he did not follow through with that demand.
I am of course please with his reaction to my request but...

another story... Don't worry it will all come together.

Many years ago I watched a show about a snake getting into the pipes of an apartment building. A boy went into his bathroom and there was a snake sitting in the toilet. He ran to get his mother and when they came back in she saw a small part of the snake's tail escape down the toilet.
FROM THEN ON I always check inside the toilet before I use it.

One Last story to wrap things up.

One day while we where potty training "Hunter" I went in the bathroom to do my business and did my routine as I have mentioned above but instead of nothing or even a snake I discovered a dirty pair of little boys underpants. I of course rinsed them out and disposed of them properly and then went back to the bathroom.
After I came out of the bathroom my husband who had just noticed me coming out of the bathroom with surprise in his face rushed to ask if I had flushed the underwear down. I said no that I had taken care of them. He asked how I noticed they were there so I told him my snake story and thanked him for putting the toilet seat and lid down even though he hadn't taken care of the underpants.

What makes you stop and think?

why do I blog? I really don't know. Why do I enjoy blogging and reading others blogs? I don't know.
There are several different kinds of blogs out there. Photo book blogs (one type that I do). Pictures with a little journaling. Journal blogs (another kind I tend to do) that tell you what someone has done and how they feel about it.
I don't find them very often and some blog sites don't always focas on haveing them but there are some that as I am reading I have to stop and actually think about what I just read. somersbysentinel.blogspot.com just posted it's second blog and it was awesome. livingabalance.blogspot.com has some pretty good blogs like "life out of balance" posted on January 22 was pretty good.
I think about what they have posted for awhile after I have read them.
Read enjoy and tell me what you think. Don't forget to leave comments there too. Everyone loves comments on their blogs.

slip of the tongue

I was at a relatives house the other day. The adults were sitting around a table playing a game. I said something. I paused and realized what I had said. Wow that was really vulgar but kinda funny so I laughed. While laughing I apologized and told everyone I did not mean to say that in that way. I noticed no one else was laughing. I also noticed the chick across the table giving me a very nasty look. I was kind of impressed with the fact that I never thought of saying that before and it just ended up being that what I said was taken wrong. What is the really sad part is that these people actually thought I meant it the way it came out. Am I that pathetic that people think of me like that? Later I told the story to someone and I could just tell they thought "sure you really didn't mean to say it that way. Right!! Whatever!"
This really sucks

Opinions

Everyone has one... I am interested in almost everyone's. I blog about what I have thought about more then once today.
I am very fortunate to have a great companion to discuss and make decisions with. About 95% of the time he is on the same page with me.
He is a great listener. These blogs are just to reiterate about things I've already discussed with him.
He has really helped me straiten out a lot of the curves that I have had in the past and still have.
He makes me look at everything from every angle and that really is amazing. Just like he is.
So for all the opinions out there and I do like hearing them. There is only TWO that mean the most. Mine and His!

Not Pregnant

Despite the fact that everyone I am normally pregnant with is going to have a baby and I am about due to get pregnant. I am not pregnant and not trying to get pregnant. In fact we are preventing (none of you business how) me from getting pregnant.
I have imagined myself consumed with children. Having a child that is in high school and still having little ones around but that was awhile ago and my three little ones are a hand full. Don't get me wrong they are really good boys. I think I've got it pretty easy compared to others. Like the ones that have girls. I think girls are generally harder then boys in many ways.
I think I want to try one more time for a little girl despite the above statement but I just don't think right now is right for us. I do want my kids close together so why not right now? Well... I don't know it just doesn't feel right. Maybe because I don't want to be pregnant during the summer even though that is not a very good excuse.
My boys are just about 2 years apart. If I got pregnant right now then the baby now would be over 2 1/2 years apart from the new one. Not that bad right? except I am not going to get pregnant right now and I'm not sure when I will get pregnant. I don't want them to be so far apart that I would have to have another close after so they can have a buddy. But I don't want more then just one more.
Anyways so there's my daily "dilemma".

To Do:

I like writing lists. I think it helps me with things I need to do or get done.
I of course have the usual grocery list but I also make list of what to bring places like camping. Fine I guess but I also have lists of how to properly clean the kitchen. I have a list of what I want to get my kids for this Easter. I have a list to get the kids next Christmas. I have a list of what I want to get in the future. My husband wants a big screen t.v. I want a new mattress. I am almost tempted to make a list of lists that I want to make.

Money Money Money

What kind of say does the Lord have over what I do with my money?
As long as I pay what he asks (tithes, and to the poor) what else should I be doing with my money.
I have to admit that I am not the most fashionable person but I recognize when I see something I think is cute but I could never justify paying over $100 for shoes. I've never seen shoes that cute. I could buy a shirt for only $2.00 at Walmart but it wouldn't "call my name" as my sister would put it. But I like to go more appealing then a $2.00 shirt.
So... If i give my tithes and give to the poor can I do whatever I want with the rest as long as it's Moral? I am leaning toward No.
When my husband and I decide to scrip and save for that house someday (maybe this year) we will only get a modest house. Sometimes I like to drive by huge houses and ask him if that is modest. He always says no. Do we need a room for each of our kids? Would we like a room for each of our kids? Would it be easier if they just had their own room?
I am not a simple person but sometimes simple is just nice. My little apartment isn't elegant but I can clean it in 3 hours (the whole thing).
My husband has a Great job and we do well but we probably won't ever buy a new car. It's just kind of a waist of money to us. Yes there is lots of good reasons to buy new but we got such great deals on the cars we own. I don't think we could ever get such a great deal on a new car. Even they eventually break down.
So there's another soap box what do you think?

amnesia

I was reading a short story about a woman who was in a car accident and lost 10 years of her memory. No Husband No kids No old boy friend.
What would you want to forget?
Of course I wouldn't want to forget my husband or my children but if I didn't have a choice with that, How far back would I go?
Let's see...
Maybe my first marriage. yes I was married before but I have known my ex-husband since I was in elementary so I wouldn't want to go that far.
What about old boyfriends? Well there was good times and bad times so I guess I would want to forget right before I started dating my first husband but after I started dating that guy with the leather jacket I am glad to be finished with him.
