What do you think about Valentine's Day?
Do you go out?
We went out Thursday before Valentine's to avoid the crowds and the costs.
Do you give or get flowers/chocolates?
I like flowers not so much chocolates but this year we are tightening our belts a little so they were neither expected nor given.
What about kids giving Valentines and party's at school?
Titan had a small party and gave valentine's but I kinda think its fun to recognize your friends. I don't think they need another reason to eat candy. My nephew's teacher decided to do a ediquett breakfast and the kids dressed up and used/learned manners.
If they did away with Valentine's seriously do you think your relationship wouldn't suffer?
I can't say my relationship would suffer but we do get caught up in life even though we celebrate our anniversary it's nice to have another day to go out by ourselves.
I hope you all had a great one and show love to your loved ones.
What do you think?

For me Valentines day isn't that big of deal. We don't go out that evening unless we have reservations somewhere, otherwise we would be waiting for over 3 hours. This Valentines we took our parents to Dinner in the afternoon. It was great! I got flowers and my favorite chocolates and I got my husband his favorite Sees candy. Hubby has a real beef with the holiday...He thinks the advertising and focus is all the men doing something for their wives, girlfriends etc....what about the men? Maybe more of the focus should be on the men for once. This point could be argued until pigs fly.
The kids always exchange valentines with friends and class mates. I actually put together something for my kids for valentines day....just leftovers from preschool. They could probably take it or leave it.
I love Valentines Day. I always have. I use to love to make valenetins for my friends and give them out, I have done it every year but this year, we just bought some and had Cole give them out. I don't care if I get anything or if the day is even recognized by my husband. He is a great husband all year long, I don't care if he misses one day. (he never does). We like to do something a little romantic and just recognize eachother. The same as we do every holiday. Nothing wrong with recognizing love I don't think. Would my life change if we didn't have it? NO but why complain about a day for love and celebrate civil rights day? It doesn't have to be just a day for hallmark to make money but at the same time, it doensn't have to be a high pressure day either with lots of expectations.
Candy is one of the first things I think of when I hear Valentines day. When I was young I can remember having good memories about Valentines, but what did I do with all those cards I would get?
